HOMEWORK

The work set on this page is aimed helping pupils keep up with their school work during the periods of enforced closure.

We are acutely aware that we have a very full curriculum to teach across all year groups and that it becomes increasingly difficult to make up lessons that are lost.
We are not legally required to set homework at present however the government is progressing its plans to have every family online by 2012, with every learner having their own webspace - so that pupils unable to attend school - whether through a broken bone or enforced school closure - don't miss out.

Many schools are gearing up for 2012 and are developing the infrastructure to support remote learning. We are fortunate to have most of the necessary infrastructure in place and are keen that our pupils have the opportunity to keep up hence the work that has been set.

All pupils are issued with individual passwords in order to have access to EducationCity.com. Teachers are able to set homework activities in English, Mathematics, Science or French, for individuals or groups, using EducationCity.com. When pupils log into EducationCity homework they are presented with a set of activities chosen by the teachers. Pupils are informed of the time allowed for the activities. Once a pupil completes an activity, the score is displayed and an opportunity to print out a certificate of achievement provided.
Pupils' individual scores and performance are logged and a report provided for the teacher.
Pupils who have limited or no access to the internet at home, are able to access EducationCity.com, using the school's network each morning from 8.45 a.m. until registration.
