Classroom TA is specifically designed to offer training and support through the use of Information Technology: computers, scanners, cameras, recorders etc. etc. Wessex Learning provides courses to encourage and show how IT can be used by TAs and teachers as a range of teaching tools to create simple and relevant learning resources.


Whatever your role in the school, we want you to find this site full of useful information as well as being a morale booster.

The main aims of the site are:

To support you in your work through advice and training.

To show you examples of work from other schools and let you display your own.

To put you in touch with other TAs where you can chat and learn.

To keep you informed and up to date on the latest issues.

To offer you resource packs to use with the children in your class.

This site works on two levels.

The Free Area gives you a Display Board, a weekly selection of tips and ideas and the most important current information about your role in schools and the law. You will also be able to enter your name on the TA register and to go shopping at the Support and Training Boutique.

If your school registers as a CTA Member, you will have access to email advice and support as well as subject by subject ideas and training. You will have special discounts in the Boutique and be able to contact TAs in other schools, either directly or more generally on the TA Notice Board. This way, you will be able to ask others what they do and how they do it.

When you have put up a fantastic display or created a really useful worksheet template, why not put it on the TA Display Board for everyone to see?

There will be a Star Of The Month prize to the member school that we judge to have made the best contribution.
